Du Parterre room

Overlooking the gardens and the large pool inspired by Versailles, this room offers one of the most soothing views of the château. Ample light floods in, extending the symmetry and serenity of the landscape indoors.

The décor reflects a transition between the Louis XV and Louis XVI styles. The fireplace, equipped with an antique built-in stove, evokes the comforts of bygone eras and contributes to the authentic charm of the place. The period saw a return to furniture with straighter, cleaner lines. "Le Grand Parterre," like all the renovated rooms, is part of the history of this grand Provençal country house, built in 1678 for the beautiful Françoise de Cambis, widow of the Count of Forcalquier.

The d’Aillaud family became the owners in 1753. Jean d’Aillaud, a doctor of medicine and inventor of a purgative powder, created outbuildings to manufacture his magic remedy, which was exported throughout Europe.

A television screen is not very 18th century, which is why you won't see them in the rooms. However, upon request, we can install one in your room.
