The Château du Grand-Pré in Vitrolles, in the Luberon region, is rising from the ashes. This grand château, dating from the 17th and 18th-centuries, symbolizes the refined elegance of the Provençal aristocracy. Balanced and well-integrated into the landscape, and sumptuously decorated inside, it allows visitors to discover the distinctive character of 18th-century Provençal architecture, particularly through its exceptional plasterwork.

In the past, its terraced gardens, laid out in a rhythmic pattern and leading to a large Louis XIV-style basin, embodied the art of the Provençal garden, blending the formality of the French style with the artistry of the Italianate style. These gardens will be brought back to life thanks to the vision of the new owner.

The extensive restoration work currently underway will allow visitors to witness the château and its gardens being restored to their former glory. Ultimately, this place will become a Collector's château, accumulating within it a very fine series of exceptional 17th-century Provençal furniture, and will be dedicated to the presentation of works by artists from the south, regardless of their era.
